Frequently Asked Questions

Who can join?

Anyone age 9 and older is welcome to join our classes! For beginners, we start with simple, foundational drawing and painting skills. For advanced students that have been drawing and painting for years we focus on sharing expert level techniques and formal aspects of art.

Why do classes start at age 9?

Based on our experience, age 9 is when students generally begin to develop the fine motor skills necessary to get the most out of our classes and truly enjoy the process. Our approach is more technical and foundational; we focus on teaching students how to draw from observation, identify, and correct mistakes. Younger children often become frustrated with this level of detail. We encourage you to keep your younger children drawing and painting on their own, and we'd love to welcome them once they turn 9!

Is this class for beginners?

Yes! Our classes are designed for all skill levels. Whether you've never picked up a pencil before or have been creating art for a while, you'll find a supportive community and foundational instruction here. Our individualized teaching method ensures that every student starts where they are and progresses at their own pace.

What supplies do I need?

None! Your class fees are all-inclusive, covering all papers and art supplies. Just bring yourself! This is a fantastic opportunity to try a wide variety of mediums before deciding which ones you might want to invest in for your own personal collection.

I missed a class! Can I make it up?

We are happy to offer make-up classes! Our policy requires that you schedule your make-up class within the current session you are registered for. Please note that missed classes cannot be carried over to the next session.
